Course Includes: American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR Pro, First Aid, and Administering Oxygen.

Refunds will not be granted solely on inability to pass the course.  Attendance is required all days and times.

Class Requirements:

  • Complete a timed event within 1 min 40 seconds, retrieve a 10 pound brick from a 7 – 10 foot depth; swim 200 yards; tread for 2 minute without using hands
  • Must be 15 years of age or older by the last day of class
  • Execute all rescue, First Aid, CPR, and AED skills to “test ready” levels
  • Score 80% or better on written exam
  • Complete the ARC Lifeguarding Blended Online Training before 1st class—email link will be sent

What to Bring: swimsuit (one piece preferred for females), towels, money or food, water and snacks.

Upon completion of this course, the lifeguard will be certified to guard at any facility, excluding open water environments.  License is valid for two years.

Note:  Class size is limited.  Please Do Not Attend Class if you are sick.

Class times:

April 24th at 5p, April 25th at 5p, April 26th at 9a, and April 27th at 11a

Lifeguard Training

Upon registration a $25 non-refundable deposit is due to cover the cost of the pre-requisite swim.  This swim will take place the 2nd Friday of the month between 5 and 7pm.  The pre-requisite swim has 2 components.

Component 1: Swim, Tread, Swim: Swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. – Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. – Swim goggles are allowed.  Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs. Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.

Component 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. – The face may be in or out of the water. – Swim goggles are not allowed. Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face at or near the surface. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

 

If you pass the pre-requisite, you will then pay the remainder of the course fee at the center that day.  Once the full course fee has been paid the online portion of the class will be emailed to you for completion.

If you do not pass the pre-requisite, you can retry at a later time, but the $25 deposit in non-refundable.

 

Class Times:

Friday: Mar 4-8pm, Apr and May 4-9pm

Saturday: Mar 9am-6pm, Apr and May 9am-5pm

Sunday: Mar 12-6pm, Apr and May 11am-5pm

Must attend all dates and times
